#2 — Journey to Phnom Penh
It was 2.5 days of flight with 3 stops from Dallas to Phnom Penh. With 13 hr time difference between two cities, the jet lag was unavoidable. Having planned the journey with a pit stop in Bengaluru gave me a few hours to stretch and then later the same night, flew into Singapore and then to Phnom Penh.
3 of us were teamed up to ride the Hotel Shuttle from Airport, we were told there would be a person holding name tag waiting outside the airport. With a slight delay, I come out of the Airport and I find none!! As, two of my colleagues reached earlier, the driver handed over them the task of locating me and had gone to drive the cab from parking lot !! With a quick call I was able to locate Tobias and Srini and we made a ride to Himawari Apts on Sisowath Quay !
Well, we arrived before the check in time, we had to wait for the room to be ready and available. The hotel did give me a room with river view at sunrise and sunset is amazing !
The best is the track next to river which is full of people and a great place to stretch, walk or run !!
Growing up in India, Cambodia felt like neighbor’s home — the temperature, traffic and variety of food options , street vendors was very much same.
