It has been almost a week since we started this program. Before boarding the plane I was nervous and excited for this program. After 10 long hours of journey from Bangalore ,I finally arrived at Kunming.

Kunming is a very beautiful place with so many colorful flowers. Sunday was our orientation day where we were finally meeting our diverse team. It’s amazing how people from different parts of the world come together through this program for a really good cause. We are total of 12 people with varied experience and background. The orientation program was followed by a city tour of this beautiful place.

A glimpse of this beautiful city.

On Monday we had a brief introduction of our SAP team and the clients with whom we would be working. The 12 participants are divided into 4 teams with 3 participant in each team. I am an Indian and my teammates are Hans Gerhard Landgraf, Lindawati Halim who are from Germany and Indonesia respectively. We work in different roles back in our organization and also we come with totally different experience. So we are a very diverse team of three. Our client organization is very interesting as it encourages and supports the interested local villagers to make videos and documentaries to showcase their ethnic culture. I feel grateful to SAP and Pyxera global to introduce us to such program and to a wonderful organization who are working for such a good cause.

We visited the creative workspace of our client with long list of questions to know more about our client. Even though there is a language barrier between us, with support from our project assistant Siang we are able to interact with our client without any hurdle.

With our colorful charts and markers we tried to put across all the possibilities and suggestions to our clients, followed by Coffee and more brainstorming sessions with the team . This routine went on for a week when on Friday we finalized our Scope of work.

The weekends were fun and exciting as I got to explore 2 places in Kunming. On Saturday we went to this place called dragon gate. The place was amazing, with beautiful Buddhist temples and amazing scenic views all along the climb. It’s a must visit place in Kunming .

On Sunday we headed to the stone forest .There are many rock formations in the shape of humans and animals. To mention a few it would be elephant, cat etc.

I must say it was truly a remarkable week .Looking forward to our upcoming weeks in Kunming.
