Day 14 and 15: Immersing ourselves in other aspects of Thai culture

At the end of Week 2, we felt it was time for an ‘Us’ break outside of Bangkok.

Interestingly, very little of our weekend conversations revolved around our respective ‘task at hand’ here in Thailand. Topics such as Sunday’s elections in Brazil, how Germany and the Czech Republic handled the post-WW II period and the changes in the 1990s, or how to manage conflicts in relationships, weren’t exactly light fare either, but made for a very fulfilling time.

We also largely agreed that the off-work part of our Social Sabbatical is similar to being a university student again — you only need to take responsibility for yourself. The major difference: We now also have money to enjoy our time even more. 😃

Pictures of the weekend speak louder than words.

Photos of a fantastic weekend.

It was impossible to not feel relaxed and happy upon our return to Bangkok on Sunday night — and ready for work on Monday morning!
