A Fireside Chat With Aaron Levie

A month ago, we convened a group of CIOs from around the world for a unique summit on enterprise technology. It was the first event like this that we’ve managed. As CEO of Sapphire Ventures, I’m pretty proud of what we accomplished.

While the event was well attended and well produced, what I was most impressed by was the level of conversation. This wasn’t the typical, fluffy, Silicon Valley safari many CIOs go on. Instead, it fostered a deep discussion about the technology trends impacting industry and the ways large companies can practically react.

No individual conversation was more indicative of the level of ideas exchanged than the fireside chat that Max Wessel, a vice president at Sapphire, had with Aaron Levie, the CEO of Box. As investors in Box, we’ve seen Aaron do some amazing things over the years. But what continues to impress us most is how deep his insights can be surrounding what is really impacting IT leaders. He understands transformation, always offers actionable insights and can captivate any audience. He’s a pleasure to have in the portfolio and a great example of what we look for in entrepreneurs.
