Do you ever feel like everything you want is completely out of reach like it’s impossible to be successful, or that you will never have what it takes to live the life that will make you happy? That’s a recipe for self-imposed misery and a recipe for disaster. But like in every recipe, there are ingredients, and if we know these ingredients, we can look at what we are feeding ourselves and change to avoid this not-so-tasty meal.

Making unrealistic goals and forcing our self-image into them can be broken down into three basic components.

  1. Unstable Emotional Health
  2. Unrealistic Expectations
  3. Extreme Mindsets (Positive or Negative)

By understanding how these three factors play a role in our daily lives, we can better understand ourselves and avoid setting ourselves up for a midlife crisis down the line.
