A pictures worth 1,000 words
This week, we uploaded a professional image of ourselves to our Linkedin and about me pages. A profile picture can say that you are a professional or an amateur, organized or sloppy, successful or unsuccessful and the list goes on and on. Whether you are advertising for a company or advertising yourself, a picture is worth a thousand words. The same concept is true with advertising through images. From a young age, I have always been captivated by images. As I have gotten older, I have learned that every visual advertisement a consumer sees is designed strategically. Every detail is purposeful and thought out because the image is telling the customer a story of their product without saying a word. “Frankly, there is just too much to read and it takes too long in a world that moves too fast.” Our brains process visual images faster than text. This is why images are a great way to advertise, especially for online advertising. While an individual is scrolling down Facebook, if the image that is chosen to advertise for a particular company catches that person’s eye, whether or not the person realizes it, the company has successfully communicated their product to a consumer. However, choosing the right image to use to best represent your product is the tricky part. If you would like to read about how to successfully use images as a marketing tool, I have attached a link to a website that I feel does a good job of elaborating on the subject.
