Top 5 Construction Podcasts — Which ones should you tune in to?
While I am on my daily commute, taking a walk, or cleaning my house I usually have my earbuds in. What am I playing? You guessed it. A podcast. What better time to stay on top of my industry than when I would normally just be wasting time?
Below are some of the top construction podcasts that you should be listening to. If you listen to one that isn’t listed, let us know in the comments!
1. ConTechTrio
ConTechTrio has been honored on multiple construction podcast “best of” lists. This podcast won Construction Junkie’s best podcast of 2016, #1 podcast in 2017 on GenieBelt’s list, and #1 podcast on business.com’s list of top construction podcasts.
This podcast focuses on construction technology that makes construction projects easier such as 3D printing, workflow apps, and drones. It is hosted by consultant Rob McKinny and JBKnowledge CEO James Benham.
2. The Lien Zone
The Lien Zone was named a top construction podcast on business.com and Construction Dive and is nominated for Construction Junkie’s podcast awards in 2018.
This podcast is hosted by attorney Alex Barthet. He covers topics on — you guessed it — law. Specifically, he chats about construction law, liens, and contracts. The episodes are a biteable 15 minutes and come out weekly.
3. Pro Construction Guide ProCast
This podcast was created by Pro Construction Guide magazine. This bi-weekly podcast shares tips and tricks for saving time and money on the job site. It has been featured as a top podcast by Geniebelt and Construction Dive.
4. The Art of Construction
This podcast looks at another side of construction: marketing, communications, and sales. This podcast also comes in video that can be watched on YouTube. The Art of Construction has 150,000 subscribers and is growing.
5. 99% Invisible
Named top creative in 2013 by Fast Company, Roman Mars hosts 99% Invisible which dives into construction and architecture in the most interesting way. If you want some interesting small talk at sales meetings, this podcast will provide plenty for you.
Next time you’re in your car, fiddling with the radio dial put on a podcast instead. It’s the perfect time to get in some extra education time.
