$SARCO Community August Update
August Recap of What Is Happening in the Sarcophagus World
This month has been a pretty busy and fruitful month for the Sarcophagus community. There have been lots of enabling decisions and votes that have been made to help grow the community, user base and raise awareness of the project. In addition, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the $SARCO community; from social media forums/chats, contests & bounties as well as running nodes. This month is the start of helping to grow $SARCO further.
Key Points:
Creation of Gnosis Safe and funding from Sarcophagus DAO
A major win for the community has been the development and subsequent funding of a Gnosis safe. The Gnosis safe will serve as a decentralized way for the Ambassadors to spend and use funds to support Sarcophagus. In order to spend any funds within Gnosis, at least 4ambassadors will have to sign off before a transaction can be completed, ensuring that funds are spent with the best interest of Sarcophagus in mind. The safe will be funding from the Aragon DAO (governing wing of the Sarco project) with 250,000 SARCO tokens. These funds will be used to pay for additional bounties, drive community engagement as well as compensate contributors to the project.
Bounties
In the past month, we have also seen the number of bounties for the Sarco Project unveiled. The various bounties consist of ways for community members to help spread the word and awareness around the project and to support the decentralization goals of the project. Below are the current bounties available and a brief description of what they are:
- Bi-monthly Meme Contest — Create your best SARCO meme and submit on a bi-monthly basis for a chance to win SARCO tokens equivalent to 10 x the number of contestants for each contest window (i.e. 5 contestants -> 50 Sarco reward)
- Video Content Submission — Produce a short (1–2 min) or a long (2+ min) video about Sarcophagus for a reward. 40 & 60 SARCO reward respectively capped at 3 videos a week.
- Blogs — Write about SARCO and post/publish it on the web to raise awareness. 0.1 SARCO reward per word capped at 2 submissions a week.
- Archaeologist Kickstart Bounty — Currently the most rewarding bounty, asks users to spin up an archaeologist node and run it to support the project. Due to the actual costs of doing this, the rewards for doing this are 300 SARCO for successful setup and for a limited time an additional 150 SARCO for each month that the server is online and running. This is capped at a total of 5 rewards to be given a month and the monthly awards will be available while this bounty is continued to be offered.
