October Recap of What Is Happening in the Sarcophagus World
What a time to be involved in the Sarcophagus project. We have seen explosive growth in our community, DAO funding rounds to help develop and promote the project, as well as enhancements that support the project from our Discord Server to enablements to wallets. At last count, we have seen our Discord server grow by ~60%, an amazing feat. We saw many of the new community members join and participate in our Russian- and Korean-speaking channels. Glad to see such a wide and diverse community being built around the project. As is usual, stay tuned to our social media channels: Discord, Telegram, and here on Medium to get the latest and greatest news as we strive to build, support, and develop for our community.

DAO Funding Round Complete:
The biggest and most impactful news that has occurred in October is the completion of a round of the DAO funding. With this round, we saw over $2 million dollars (USD) being committed to the project by VC investors. These VC investors join us as very experienced players in the blockchain world and will provide partnerships for us to grow and develop from. The influx of investment will come in the form of stablecoins and allow the project to make payments for development and other items to support the project that would be facilitated by stablecoin payment. The newly acquired funds will be paid out in incremental payments in a linear fashion until complete and the funds will be stored within the DAO’s Aragon Vault. All project spending will be managed by a vote of all SARCO tokens that will need to stake their tokens in the governance app and subsequently vote on the proposal. New Additions to Support Sarcophagus
This past month we have seen our Ambassadors rank grow as well as a new moderator position introduced to help with expansive growth in the community. Our newest Ambassadors are @djkoro and @cryptocherie. Djkoro demonstrated some great developer skills by deploying our community website page on Arweave via The ArGoApp and he has actually won the Gitcoin competition with his submission! You can check out his deployment work here. CryptoCherie brings another set of skills with more artistic flair through photography and video editing skills. She has been behind recording our recent AMAs, creating awesome video content as well as doing the first-of-its-kind themed photoshoot for SARCO! Great additions to the Ambassadors.
In addition, we have created a new Moderator position to help us interact, learn, and get better feedback from the community. With the growing amount of folks in our foreign-language channels, the moderators will help us bridge the language gap and help better serve the project in their native languages. We are proud to introduce @Crystal, @Lightman, @bongnam, @Evolving Jeyoung seo as our initial group of Discord Moderators.
Fresh New Content
I’d be remiss if I didn’t highlight an awesome new video put out by our very own Ambassador, @quickchange which goes over in great detail the parameters involved with setting up an Archaeologist node. You can check the video below.
With the reopening of the bounties, we have seen some community write-ups come through the pipeline. You can check them out in the Community Write-Ups subsection of this publication. Please support each other and give those articles a read. For the bounties, we have instituted some quality assurances and checks to ensure that we maintain the quality of content put out by the community. For questions and clarifications reach out to the Ambassadors and we can get answers for you. We will be looking at expanding bounties for more technical development within the project, so those who have programming skills, be on the lookout for announcements as they become available.
Meme Contest
This month we saw an explosion of submissions for the monthly meme contest as the rewards this month were spiced up a little for the Spooky Season that is upon us. Voting for the winner of the contest should be completed not long after this article is published and a pot of 420 SARCO will be going to the winner. You can see the submissions for this month here.
Growing Pains
With all this great growth that we have seen, we also maybe grew at a rate that the team was unprepared for initially. The Ambassadors have increased the number of support, through new ambassadors and moderators as well as redraft language on things to reflect good behaviors. Anywhere that sees growth as we have would see similar “growing pains” and we are constantly looking for constructive feedback from the community on things that we can do better to help.
