5 International Business Events In MENA To Attend In 2020 — Arabic Translations

Welcome, December — the final month of 2019.

Many of us are focused on family and holiday gatherings. Thanksgiving has already come and gone, but I am still so grateful for the moments I’ve spent with loved ones over the past few weeks. Dinners, games, and shopping trips in search of treasures that enhance the spirit of the season. Besides enjoying the festivities, this is also the perfect time to start looking toward 2020 and plan for upcoming international events!

Some might think it’s too early to start dreaming about voyaging to the lands where time began. But I say it’s never too early.

So what do you say? Let’s check out some of the anticipated Middle Eastern events that will keep us connected to the Arabic-speaking and world communities. Especially these that look like they’ll be both fun, entertaining, and informative.

The locations where it will be going down are in the UAE, Bahrain, Tanzania, and Kuwait. You may find them to be of value to you if you are attracted to international business, science, or fashion. Of course, I also have to mention an event that will be wonderfully informative for English and Arabic linguists and to translators specializing in different languages from all over the world. (Spoiler Alert: It’s the one gathering that will be a bit of a hike from the Middle East and North African region, but well worth the extra miles.)

Expo 2020 Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

This event is going to be huge. It’s the World Expo or World Fair that’s been held every 5 years since 1851, and it will be hosted by Dubai for six months starting in October 2020. It will be perfect for checking out if you want to bring your family along and combine business with family time since the expo will have something for everyone. And, if you live in a colder country, it will be a welcome break during chilly fall and winter months. (That’s to say, this time, next year, you could be enjoying warm sunny weather). The expo will feature showcases, pavilions, and food from over 200 countries.

AITCO 2020

Arusha, Tanzania

What a fascinating time to be a linguist, or at least be part of the translation industry. If you have the good fortune of being able to get out to the African International Translation Conference, you’ll meet some of the industry’s influencers while standing near the top of Africa’s highest mountain. Speakers for the event will be joining from nations across the globe including Algeria, Egypt, South Africa, Poland, Nigeria, and Brazil. This will be a 2-day event held on February 7 and 8. If you want to stick around for a while longer, you may be able to create some once-in-a-lifetime memories on a safari or taking in breathtaking views of Africa’s natural landscape.

The Luxury Show Arabia

Mishref, Kuwait

The Middle Eastern gulf states are known for going to a level of luxury and decadence that is unmatched by most regions the world over. A highlight of the luxury lifestyle and industry in GCC, the Luxury Show Arabia will be taking place in Kuwait, the 5th richest country in the world. All kinds of high ticket items will be on display at the show. Jewelry, real estate, yachts, are just a few of the treasures that will be marketed. If you attend, you might be able to pick up a few samples or have a chance at winning prizes worth 1000 Kuwaiti dinar during daily giveaways. The show will run from April 8–11 in 2020.

International Motor Show Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Starting on April 2, 2020, the International Motor Show will satisfy every gearhead from drifters to off-road aficionados for two whole days. While there, you’ll also be able to enjoy the Middle East’s largest custom automotive event and see the Middle East Car of the Year. The show will be held in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, which is in and of itself a visible piece of architecture and engineering accomplishment. It’s also not far from nature preserves, waterfronts, shopping, and other attractions.

GEO 2020

Manama, Bahrain

The Middle Eastern Geosciences Conference and Exhibition will take place in mid-March 2020 from the 16th to the 19th. This for anyone interested in oil and gas technology. Geology-related developments in petroleum, chemicals, seismic analysis, AI (artificial intelligence), data services, and more will be shown off by their creators for executives, technical business partners, and others to take in.

So there you go. If you can make one it to one of these shows during your travels, let us know how it goes! Bon voyage, happy Holiday and a Happy New Year!
