Rachel Marie Mellon Skemp: Missing Since 1996
13-year-old Rachel Marie Mellon Skemp disappeared while staying home sick with her stepfather on January 31, 1996.
Rachel Marie was born in the early hours of Tuesday, October 13, 1982, to Jeff and Amy Skemp in Melrose Park, IL.
Rachel was a bubbly and vivacious child with a great sense of humor. She always managed to stay positive, even though her life at home was often turbulent.
When she was 3 years old, her parents divorced. Jeff moved to Texas, while Amy stayed in Illinois with Rachel and began a relationship with a man named Vincent Mellon.
Amy and Vincent eventually married and had two more children: Jason in 1988 and Ashley in 1990.
Together, the Mellon family lived at 612 Melissa Drive in Bolingbrook, IL, about 30 miles outside of Chicago.

At the time of her disappearance, Rachel attended Bernard J. Ward Middle School where she was an honor student.
