“When evil men plot. . .”

Today, we will witness the transfer of power in our great nation. I have no doubt that we’ll get through these next four years. However, my hope is that the proposed policies and legislation coming down the pike won’t cause more damage than good,

specifically the efforts to get rid of ACA and other relevant programs such as CHIP, Medicare and Medicaid; or the drastic cuts in budget for the Commerce, Energy, and Transportation departments; or the complete elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts or the Minority Business Development Agency. And God knows what will happen with the Department of Education because grizzlies.

Sigh… let’s be honest, this may suck a bit.

But I have faith in God and trust that those of us who believe in equality, taking care of our fellow man, and the arts will continue to fight. As we say goodbye to the Obamas and accept the inauguration of a new president today, let’s remember that we still have a voice. I hope we all hold Trump, and every government official, to the fire for EVERYTHING they say and do. Protest. Call their offices. Petition. March. Demand they work in the best interest of ALL of us and NEVER let up. Organize within our communities and create change on the local level.

We can’t control what’s happening today but we CAN forge ahead with our efforts to fight, inform and force change. Don’t be dismayed, this is not the end.
