Hey tribe, some of you may have seen a couple photos of some of the YesTribe uniting out in Bali. We wanted to fill you in on what we’re doing here and why and give you all the opportunity to ask any questions and send us any thoughts. Hope this helps and makes you as excited as we are for all the awesomeness thats about to come!

Who’s here

Dave Cornthwaite aka Mr Cornface, Terri Witherden, Sam Billingham, Andy Bartlett, Julia Wickham, Tamsyn O’Donoghue and of course me, Rima Patel! Over the next coming days we’ll all do a little personal post for those of you who don’t know us individually or would like to know a little more about us and our involvement in SayYesMore and The YesTribe. Watch this space :)

YesTeam @ ROAM

Why we’re here

We’ve all gathered here from different stages in our lives but are united in our belief that the YesTribe is special. We’ve all been impacted in incredibly positive, life changing ways and we know that with a bit of love and attention we can do the same for so many more. We’ve come together for 2 weeks in Bali, totally open to what we are about to create including, but not limited to, an awesome connected team and an epic action plan for the following 12 months to really take SayYesMore and the YesTribe to the next level.

Along the way we’re going to need your input and support. We want this thing, whatever it is, to be built by the tribe, for the tribe, so we’d love all your thoughts and feedback as we go. We’re staying at ROAM, an epic co-live, co-work space which has been the perfect setting for work and play, as well as lots of inspiration as to what a YesHQ could look and feel like back home.

What we’ve done so far

  • Explored what the YesTribe means to us individually and collectively
  • Explored all the ways the tribe can sustain itself financially, currently everyone here is doing it for love, but thats not sustainable in the long run!
  • Explored ROAM and other sites around Bali for inspiration. This including founder of the Green School, John Hardy’s eco hotel, Bamboo Indah, where we joined him on a ‘Spearing garbage, talking trash’ session. We ventured into the jungle with spears collecting rubbish, learning about permaculture and plans to incentivise locals to clear Bali of non-biodegradable plastics.
Spearing garbage, Talking trash
  • Started to work out what info we need from the tribe to make sure we build something that has impact & value for all our tribe members. Fill out this Typeform to help us!
  • Identified our strengths, individually, as a team and as a community

What else will we be doing?

  • Rebuilt the SayYesMore website so its more user friendly and has all the info tribe members new and old might need
  • Thinking about what free and paid membership could look and feel like for The YesTribe and what value it would provide for members
  • Plan for Yestival 2016 and other awesome events
  • Working on SayYesMore branding and merchandise
  • Considering partners who could offer cut price outdoor gear, useful stuff and adventures to tribe members
  • Planning for YesHQ co-live/co-work/co-create space in London

We’d love to know what your first thoughts are on all of the above so please take 5 mins to respond to our Typeform and do just drop us a message if you have any other thoughts or questions!

Love The YesTribe xox
