As some of you might already know, we didn’t want to release one of our main goals(V6) under a brand we are not really happy with. So we decided to choose a new name — a definitive name that would better describe our vision.
The criteria were as follows:
- Unique in the crypto universe
- Reflect the project and vision of the team
- Simple, but yet leaving room for imagination
- Enable long-term growth of the project
- Everyone in the team should like it
The brainstorming
We started intense, but still funny brainstorming sessions, where names such as Leaf, Blaze, Impulse, Vulcan, Vega, Blast and Nest were thrown in.
We initially thought heading towards a theme related to fire, only to realize that mobile mining was more related to cold, connectivity and frequency.
Back to square one…
Getting closer
With this new insight, we started looking for cold themed names. We had names like Snow, Breeze, Winter, FrostByte, Cryolite and Mistral. And then we came across this little-known phenomenon called ice wave.
We thought we had finally found the right name, but several team members did not like the fact that the name was made up of two words.
We wanted a simple name! Non-negotiable.
Then the name String came up. It was simple, available and sounded good. We already started looking for domain names, but after a while some members felt it was too generic. So we kept pushing it!
The illumination
We decided to ask the community to give us some inspiration. It was at this point that Hayzam proposed a very simple name.
- A name composed of only one word
- A name that everyone liked right away
- A name that was unique in the crypto space
- A name that inspires growth
- A name that fueled our imagination
That was it!
We evaluated if the name really fits our requirements and let it sink for some time. And it was still good!
What is the name!?
The name will be anounnced soon. Yes, we are sooning you! It’s not that we want to keep the suspense going, but we have to register the domain names and complete other related tasks first. We want to do this right!
And we are not gonna leave you empty-handed. Maybe you can guess from the logo design what the name is. And no, it’s not Mountain. :)
