The time for Web3 is now. Let’s BUIDL Together!
Over the past year and a half, we’ve seen things change. Large businesses started to find their feet on the internet. Covid drove them to think innovatively. It led to a spurt of SaaS companies trying to solve a multitude of problems and doing it very successfully.
But during that wave, another conversation started. Web3. Now, the metaverse has been a buzzword since Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook’s ultimate goal was to be a social networking website on web3. But web3 companies have been trying to build under the surface for a while. The likes of Solana are a large success now. But this is just the beginning. The revolution has just gotten underway. And this one will be streamed. Live.
It is an excellent time to be part of this space too. Not because of all the capital that is being accumulated to back interesting ideas and founders, it is because the world has started to take web3 more seriously. It isn’t just restricted to games on a console.
But we’re in the early stages of this cycle. There exists no ecosystem, no playbook and very little knowledge of how ideas can be nurtured, developed and scaled into large businesses.
At Together, our ambition is to help founders harness their potential, so India can take its rightful place as a product nation. The DNA of Together has steeped in the principles of paying it forward. So, we’ve decided to build a cohort based program for young and first time web3 founders who have an idea but are still piecing together how to build, execute and scale a company.
What is this programme?
We’re calling it BUIDL Together. We wanted to pay homage to the famous HODL meme and decided to do one of our own. We will create a cohort of 12 founders who will be mentored by the likes of Aritra Sarkhel of WazirX, Rahul Dalmia of Polygon, and Bhagaban Behera of Defy.Club.
How will it work?
The program will resemble a cohort-based bootcamp. This means there will be mentoring sessions, office hours, community interactions, product tear-downs and a community showcase day. The program is designed keeping the nuances of building a web3 company and will rely heavily on the concept of “building in public”. Our ambition is to help founders find the leaders and innovators hidden themselves.
Why is it different?
In a few ways. One, mentors are involved in the shortlisting process. So, they know who they’re going to be working with. They will be hands-on, talk tactically and strategically. The community will help founders understand the basics of building companies. There is no ecosystem, such as a Play Store or an App Store, for companies to be discovered. We will help founders find their first ~5,000 customers through our community as a service initiative or CaaS.
And the money?
Nothing. All of this is free. There will be no money involved. Together will not invest primary or secondary capital or provide expertise in exchange for equity. Founders will get to own everything they have. We want founders to build.
