Important changes to renters

We are imposing minimum price restrictions to Nestors rented via Cardinal and Rentii due to renters heavily undercutting each other.

Scalp Empire has its own rent system for people wanting to try our analytics, sniping and portfolio app called Adopt. We also use the same Cardinal based renting program for our subscription system. Both have been working great even before zero royalties became a thing.

But as the popularity of renting grew for utility NFTs, so did the number of renters, and rent prices dropped to almost nothing. This is bad for both the project and the renters, so it’s time we do something about it.

Minimum rent prices

Following are the new recommended minimum rent prices in SOL per day, depending on the duration of the rent:

If you rent for your own project’s token, there is no minimum imposed for now.

How will this be implemented ?

While we can’t control rent platforms, we can however control who can access our app. We can detect if a Nestor used to access was rented, for how long and at what price. If the rent price does not meet our minimum threshold, the renter will be asked to pay for the difference in order to be able to access the platform. Simple as that.

Some examples

For a 1 week (7 days) rent the minimum price is 7 * 0.07◎ = 0.49◎.
If the person renting decides to undercut at 0.3◎ for 7 days, the renter will be asked to pay the difference of 0.19◎ when accessing Scalp Empire.

For a 1 day rent, the minimum price is 1 * 0.15 = 0.15◎.
If someone decides to rent for 0.02◎ then the renter will be asked to pay the difference of 0.13◎.
