Pullback from the Scalp Gang merger

Scalp Empire renounces the partnership with TAG and backs out of Scalp Gang, TAG holders will lose access to SE platform on 25th of March 2023.

As most of you already know, we have decided back in November to build an alliance between Scalp Empire and TAG, creating a new entity named Scalp Gang. This announcement will be a retrospective of everything that happened, and a conclusion on what is next.

What “the merge” was all about.

We have had a special relationship with TAG for a while now. We’ve been granting access to TAG holders to Scalp Empire against a monthly payment at first, and we then moved to this merger. The objectives of this alliance were defined, in short, as follows :

• Scalp Empire team were to provide a list of agreed developments to the Raffle platform (plus new features as needed), and offer free access to the SE platform for the increased TAG collection (1000 spots).
• TAG team were to airdrop 500 TAG Raffle NTFs to Scalp Holders so they can participate in the Raffle revenue sharing, operate and market the improved raffle platform in order to bring in more rafflers and also operate the R2E and missions activities.
• TAG and Scalp Empire projects would remain owned and operated by their respective teams with the Raffle project being shared as mentioned above.

Scalp Empire team has hold its part of the deal providing the much needed technical enhancements to the Raffle platform + access to SE the entire TAG collection, but has yet to see any of the promised actions that would result in increasing activity on the Raffle site.

What happened to the marketing ?

We don’t exactly know what is happening with the marketing, the reason being that Joey has been MIA for the past 3+ weeks. The reason evoked was COVID (which sucks). However, we can see that there was still a lot of raffling activity on his different wallets, which proves that he was active on a regular basis. With all that happened since the beginning of this merger, it’s safe to say that we have lost our trust in Joey.

We have been trying to contact him for the past 3 weeks, repeatedly asking for him to give us any sign of life so we could continue moving forward with our new shared project, but as of today we still haven’t had any response from him.

This also unfortunately coincided with MonKeY’s IRL issues which prevented him from continuing his activity as part of the TAG team, which basically left the SE team in charge of everything.

How is this affecting the Scalp Gang entity and Scalp Empire ?

Most of TAG’s and SE’s active members already noticed the reduced activity and some functionalities such as R2E and missions that have been put to a pause due to the fact that this was in the TAG team’s responsibility.

Access to SE platform has been increased from 1300~ to 2300~, drastically reducing the number of monthly subscriptions and making it difficult for the SE team to maintain and expand on current partnerships and thus obtaining the much needed revenue to keep the platform alive. As you already know, we are not enforcing royalties on our platform, as we believe everyone should be able to chose whether to pay for royalties or not, based on their experience with the app. However, in order to keep SE alive we need to be able to at least cover our monthly server costs of around $3.500.

Financially, Scalp Empire cannot pursue this partnership any longer, as this would mean we would put in jeopardy our holders and our core business. This is why we are going to split back in two different entities.

What is going to happen to Scalp Empire holders ?

For now, nothing will change for you. We will keep on building and improving our tools, both on Solana and Aptos, and we have some plans on how to recover from the time wasted .

What is going to happen to TAG and TAG Raffle holders ?

We don’t have an answer for this, as this is purely on Joey’s to return and start working back on his project. What I can tell you is that SE access for TAG holders will stop on the 25th of March 2023, giving you 2 weeks to prepare.

We are not pleased of the direction this partnership has taken, and we have been postponing this moment as far as possible, but without any intervention on Joey’s side, we are no longer able to wait without further damaging our product and brand.

We will keep the Raffle platform online in case Joey will return and want to continue working on this project but there will be no new features developed.
