Lots of performance improvements, mobile optimisations, PUSH notifications, new PnL indicator, bug fixes as well as some insights on the future development.

Porting to Next.js

Without boring you with the technicalities, there where 3 main goals that we set and accomplished with this challenging rewrite of our app for the Next.js framework:

  • improving the performance of Scalp Empire while maintaining the same degree of data security
  • social media friendly links
  • more frequent updates without the need of a full app update that forces reloading all opened tabs

The performance optimisations should also relive some of the pressure from our backend and DB which in turn should help us reduce costs and provide faster listings detections for an improved sniping experience. So overall it’s a win-win-win.

New features and changes

As with any new release we do, there are some new features and changes to existing ones.

Mobile optimisations

The analytics homepage and Portfolio section have both received some long overdue refactoring for mobile usage. You can now enjoy your watchlists without having to scroll all over the place and the same goes for your assets. Of course we will improve it over time based on your feedback.

PUSH notifications via Solflare wallet

If you use Solflare wallet (which you should because of it’s burner wallet with auto-approve functionality) you can now subscribe to floor price PUSH notifications. This way you never miss important developments on your investments while not at your PC.

This is just the step and we will be implementing other type of notifications in the future.

New profit and loss (PnL) indicator

Watchlisted and recently active collections now have a new PnL indicator that calculates the difference between current and previous sale of NFTs. This will give you a better overview of the type of ongoing activity (are people dumping or are they making profitable trades) so you can make better decisions.

Listing on Tensor

From the Portfolio section you can now bulk manage Tensor spot (not AMM) listings/updates/delists.

What’s next

With the fast paced changes in web3 it’s difficult to maintain a roadmap, especially for an app like Scalp Empire that has to keep up with the changes the other marketplace apps do all the time, as well as the Solana ecosystem changes in general. Nevertheless our goal is to offer the most user friendly trading experience on Solana and not only.

To that end, we are continuously improving Scalp Empire based on user suggestions which bibise is now cataloging.

We are working with the Sentries team to provide faster listing detection by streaming transactions instead of pooling them. This would be a big leap forward and make sniping in Scalp Empire compete with CLI bots.

While we are looking into other blockchains (such as Polygon and SUI) we can’t make any commitment yet, as the potential of those chains is rather low (initial hype excepted) and they require investment in RPCs and other indexing services. That’s not to say we aren’t keeping an eye on the situation and if they show promise we will definitely go for it.

GenesysGo is shutting down their RPC service end of March, so we have to find a new backup RPC provider. We already have 2 good candidates and are still in the process of choosing one of them. The most important thing to consider here is stability, as Sentries offers us the speed boost but unfortunately it had some downtimes in the past.
