Scammers have yet again preyed on unsuspecting citizens in Australia after a Sydney family fell victim to a $200k spoofing scam.

Charlotte* and George*, parents of two kids, have lost most of their life savings and are now relying on their family members for money to buy the bare necessities.

A few months ago, I did a story on how a TV presenter(also in Australia) lost $35,000 to a similar scam.

Spoofing scams are hard to detect because people do not know that such scams are even possible.

What Happened?

Charlotte received a message from her bank alerting her about a new pay id set up for the transfer of $895 from her account.
