punctï is the weirdo passion project (as in the passion of the Christ) of Laura Bardsley, having managed to put out a release every month for the last 20 months (!!)

Bardsley selects new collaborators each month, putting an interesting time pressure on the project each month. It’s one thing to try and come up with something to release each month, another thing to try and find new people each month, and find a time everyone is available to schedule a recording session.

I for one would probably have let this project shift to the back burner after probably the fifth month, or maybe the eighth month, if I want to give myself the benefit of the doubt.

But certainly not 20. That’s more than year, you know. Hell, it’s only four months away from two )!!!( years!

The nature of the project is, of course, highly improvisational — most releases are recorded in just a few hours, and managed in post-production by Bardsley.

The 20th release is called Experimental Snacks, and was recorded on the day that Canada officially declared recreational use of marijuana to be officially LEGAL, BABY.

10/17, it’s the new 4/20 in Canada and here’s a weirdo freak sess to celebrate. Punctii isn’t always as transparently freewheeling as this release, but the clattering drums and deranged electronics/samples on display here gives one the feeling it may all fall apart at any moment. Fear not, though, the sick drum machines hold it all together.
