The Museum Fur Kunst un Gewerbe Hamburg is also known as the Museum of Arts and Crafts. It’s located in Hamburg, Germany, and was founded in 1874. This makes it one of the oldest museums of its kind in Europe and has a diverse collection of over 500,000 objects from various fields, including fine art, design, crafts, and applied arts.

Some of their collection highlights include Japanese art, Art Nouveau, Fashion and Textiles and applied arts. We decided to introduce the institution to Scan the World’s collection with some of their most impressive artefacts.

Almost all of their 3D models come with a CC0 license, free to download for everyone. The 3D scans all come with a texture and are also optimised for being 3D printed. Here are some of the models that have been digitised.

Female idols from various cultures

These female idol figurines were created by various cultures in the past. The statuettes of this kind always depict a female figure, often with exaggerated or stylized features. Some believe that they were used in fertility rituals, while others suggest that they were created for shamanistic practices or ancestor worship.
