Scan the World is pleased to partner with The Glyptotek Museum in Copenhaegen, assisting in the digitisation and archival of their collection in 3D. The museum’s world-renowned collection will be available for anyone to consume, 3D print, or render on Scan the World’s extensive archive of open digital heritage.

The Glyptotek is known for its prestigious collection of sculptures, consisting of art and archaeological objects from Ancient Egypt, the worlds of Ancient Greece and Rome, Etruscan Culture, as well as Danish and French art of the 19th Century.

To start, Scan the World 3D scanned 20 objects in the collection using an Artec Eva, state of the art 3D visualisation technology, making it possible for anyone to explore and appreciate these pieces to a stunning quality.

The data produced was intended to to assist the museum in exploring new avenues of research. Glyptotek’s collection is carefully moderated by an expansive, global team of researchers and conservators. This high quality data is also released openly for anyone to download, use and consume for free (CC-BY), as per OpenGLAM standards.
