Personally I don’t have an HBO subscription, but the likelihood that I will sign up for a free 7-day trial with HBO Max and then cancel it before they charge my credit card is high now.
Read reason #2 and #3 to find out why you should watch this series, too.
2. Ragnar Lothbrok is in it.
The guy who played Ragnar in Vikings is in this 10 episode series!! I loved that series so much I watched it twice even though I was told by Amazon Prime I would have to pay for season 6. Well, I never bought season 6 and eventually it was free to watch, so there.
Now, I have not seen the season finally of Game of Thrones, nor the newest Star Wars movie, but I keep hearing no one liked it, so there may be something in the water then because I did not enjoy season 6 of Vikings as much I enjoyed the first 5.
Anyway, Ragnar is none other than actor Travis Fimmel.
Wikipedia says he started out as a model and has appeared in old Janice Jackson and Jennifer Lopez music videos.
He even starred as Tarzan in a 2003 TV series, but Vikings is obviously his breakout role.
In Raised by Wolves he does not have a Norwegian accent, but he still looks scruffy like he did in Vikings. Honestly, you may agree with me that watching Travis Fimmel in top acting form is like watching Brad Pitt or Leo Dicaprio and you just don’t want to miss any show he’s in.
3. The Creation Myth
Raised by Wolves (TV Series 2020- ) - IMDb
Androids are tasked with raising human children on a mysterious planet. Taglines: Life begins again. Trivia The…
The first episode is heavy with it. The two main characters are androids and call themselves mother and father for crying out loud! They land on some desolate planet with no life and they unearth dinosaur bones by digging them up. Then, soon we get into the heated subject of science vs. religion, which has taken on it’s ultimate form between warring civilizations.
This creation myth idea bored me a little because I’m no stranger to ancient astronaut theories, but then I realized…
4. Ridley Scott directed this series, so I’m in.
Ridley Scott was the director of Alien, Blade Runner and — do I need to keep going? Mr. Scott knows what he’s doing when it comes to Science Fiction so that’s why there’s no need to change the channel.
5. Blood and Gore
Mother was programmed to protect everyone after Earth had been destroyed. When the big bad wolf shows up, she is the…
Halloween is coming up and with Ridley Scott at the helm you’re definitely in for some incredible special effects that are just around every spaceship’s corner. Remember Sigourney Weaver in Aliens and how she always had close ups with syrupy alien juices in her face? Yes, people are going to die in mind boggling bloody ways even in episode one.
Now, go binge.
The first episode of Raised by Wolves stars Amanda Collin, Abubakar Salim, Winta McGrath, and Travis Fimmel, and with Ridley Scott on your side this is a no-brainer binge-watching marathon, so go glue your eyes to this sweet show on your big screen, your mobile phone or laptop.
