The best way to enjoy London, without the hustle and bustle

I don’t think anyone can dispute that London is a beautiful city.
I’m sitting here, typing this blog in the back of a London taxi. And I’m surrounded by the hustle and bustle of city life. Offices spill their workers onto the streets. Cyclists whizz past on their way home from work. And pedestrians sharpen their elbows as they jostle through the crowds.

And standing high above this fervour, is Nelson. Perched way up on his column, with a pigeon standing proudly on his shoulder. And there he has stood (probably with a pigeon too!) for the last 173 years.
Like Nelson, I take a moment to pause, and look around. I cannot help but be humbled by these buildings, and these places. And this is why I’m so excited about the Open House weekend (17th-18th September, 2016). Over 700 buildings — old and new — will be opening their doors. Here we have a great opportunity to enjoy some of London’s finest buildings, for free!

I’m equally excited to let you know that we’ll be testing our navigation prototype for the very first time.
Instead of competing with taxis, cyclists and sharp-elbowed pedestrians this weekend, we’re hoping you’ll use Scenicly, to get a more pleasant route from A to B.
If you’re headed to a specific venue, a simple search will get you the leafiest route.

Or if you’ve got no fixed agenda, a simple tap will give you your very own circular walking tour.

Either way, escape the hustle and bustle and dive into a building or two. And here’s hoping you enjoy our web app too!
Have a great Open House weekend (17th-18th September, 2016).
