  • me in Youtube’s search box — CarryMinati video youtube v/s tiktok: the end*

* Youtube — This video has been removed for violating Youtube’s Terms of Service. *

* me — WTF!!!!! *

Yes, that was my exact reaction when Youtube displayed that message! I mean why!! — ‘ kyun!! Being a Carry’s fan , it was a huge disappointment for me when his most liked video — a video that was breaking several records — was taken down by Youtube. Not only me but also his whole fandom was dejected which soon resulted in a controversy. Let’s take a rewind — what was this controversy and how was it triggered.

The controversy was result of the war of words between the content creators — Amir Siddiqui and Ajay Nagar ( popularly known as CarryMinati ) . TikTok content creator Amir Siddiqui posted a video earlier this month in which he compared YouTube with TikTok. Comparing both the mediums , he highlighted the unity of TikTok community and accused YouTubers of plagiarising TikTok content. However, he soon deleted it citing it was spreading unintentional negativity.

After this Ajay Nagar uploaded a video on YouTube titled ‘ YouTube v/s TikTok : The end ‘ . In his video he roasted Amir Siddiqui and other TikTokers . His video came as a reply to Amir Siddiqui. The video became popular soon and broke several records in a very short span of time. But it was taken down by Youtube after being reported for harassment and cyber bullying by few.

This resulted in controversy among his followers who were hugely disappointed after his video was taken down. Soon people started posting in his favour on Instagram and Twitter. Even Vikas Fhatak , better known as Hindustani Bhau , deleted his TikTok account comprising of 1.5 million followers. A hashtag in support of CarryMinati — #justiceforcarry was seen all over social media. People demanded YouTube to bring his video back. Not only this, TikTok’s rating significantly dropped from 4.5 to 3.2 in just few days.

Besides this , China’s ByteDance-owned TikTok also came under fire after another popular TikTok user named Faizal Siddiqui was accused of glorifying acid attacks on women. Both the incidents also gave way to a Twitter trend called #banTikTokIndia, wherein people are urging others to boycott the Chinese social media app. For me the controversy doesn’t end here.

I have seen several TikTok videos instigating people and spreading terrorism. Some videos even seem to promote harm to animals and glorifying acid attacks on women. People make videos abusing animals and post it proudly on the app to gain likes and followers. Why aren’t any steps taken against such people? TikTok suspended Faisal Siddiqui’s account only when his video came under massive flak for allegedly glorifying acid attacks on women. Why steps were not taken against him earlier? Some people got offended by Carry’s video on YouTube ( listing it as cyber bullying and harassment ) but the same group of people don’t mind when TikTokers glorify acid attacks and physical abuse. What an irony!

Later CarryMinati also uploaded a video where he talks about the YouTube Vs Tiktok controversy. The video titled Stop Making Assumptions: YouTube vs TikTok: The End showcases the YouTuber in an emotional state where he has said that his words did not mean any harm and were meant in a humorous way without any such intentions. He also mentioned, “stop making assumptions and eventually turning those into facts”.

Well , all I want to emphasize is that Carry’s video was meant to be taken for fun. He has posted several other videos roasting Deepak Kalal and many others. If people were OK with them , then there was no point in listing his current video as cyber bullying and harassment.

At last , please rate the app below 1 star on PlayStore.

(hahaha….just kidding!!!)
