Wouldn’t You Like To Know: My first blog post was an introduction to Mati and the 10 things that illustrate me as an individual.
Owning Your Learning Style: Horizontal learning style is the teaching technique that I prefer, connecting learning to real life experiences. But carefully listening and asking thoughtful questions are what brings me the most insight and knowledge.
How Many Tabs is 2 Many Tabs?: I have one singular focus no matter what task I am taking on and that focus is, what music am I going to listen to? I will have 7 different music website tabs open while trying to do homework or intern work. If the music is not right then I won’t be able to get anything done.
The Big Question: I wrote about how my study emphasis to date has been entertainment industry studies. My recent trip to Brazil allowed me to experience international hip hop culture and has inspired my senior project which is to study, compare and contrast American hip hop to Brazilian hip hop.
Fresh To Death: I analyzed the documentary film Fresh To Death which told the story of the 70’s hip hop fashion revolution. Watching this film is important for my senior project.
What is a Digital Native?: In class we read It’s Complicated the Social Lives of Networked Teens, and analyzed our role as a digital native. I disagreed and said that despite being a millennial I struggle with technology and did not grow up around it.
Lyme Disease Lesson Plan: I changed my idea last minute and reposted this blog. I broke down the objective, context and rationale of my discussion topic while also creating a time specified lesson plan for my peers.
Multiplier(s): The best person to be in a team environment is the multiplier not the diminisher. Multipliers only add positive value and help produce a more positive result from the collaborative effort.
My happiest day yet…: I wrote about my 3 day musical experience with my best friend Teresa. I recalled the music, joy, and excitement I felt with her during those 3 days together at Outside Lands.
I have to be honest that I found these medium posts in the beginning quite terrifying! I have never had a journal or even read blogs growing up. So the idea of having my own blog, strictly comprised of my personal thoughts and feelings was a scary idea. As we began posting more & more my comfort ability and understanding of the medium technology grew. I found formats I liked more than others, photos that added lightness to my posts and explored different writing styles based on the topics asked of me.
