Having only opened this summer, the Google Digital Garage offers courses and one-to-one coaching on a variety of digital skills topics. Having chatted to the staff at the launch event, we were invited to run an open coding session for all the family using the School of Code platform!

Running 10am–12pm open to the public, we had a great mix of families with young children and adults attend throughout the morning. Great to see kids with an interest in tech and coding taking a morning out of their summer holidays to come and give it a try. A few of the parents weren’t expecting to join in and ended up loving it! We also invited our Bootcamp recruits along to help with teaching and talking people through the languages of the web.

Special thanks to Richard D’Costa and Adrian Pang who gave up their time to photograph and film the morning, check out the video they put together here:

We hope there’ll be many more events of this kind happening at the Digital Garage again soon — so keep your eyes peeled! Thanks Google for having us (and for the delicious cupcakes)
