Books vs E-Readers
by Marian Frogoso
Let me count the ways…
- You can literally turn the pages and not just swipe.
- The e-reader doesn’t have that specific and enchanting smell.
- Books have certain history, and can be passed on for generations.
- Going to a bookstore/ library to find a specific book or just explore makes the experience better.
- You can borrow or gift books easily. An e-reader would be expensive to buy and if you borrow it, you would have a lot of compromise.
- You can stack your room or bookshelf with hundreds of books, with e-readers, you would only have one.
- Books are just prettier in general.
- They also make a great decoration piece.
- With books, you can highlight, write or doodle over it with your own hands and pencils. So you can remember that beautiful quote, or just because it is relatable in a certain way.
- Having a book in your hands that you’ve wanted for so long, is way more satisfactory that going into the iTunes (or Amazon) store and tapping ‘buy now’.
