Workin’ Hard, Gettin’ Credit: 10 Ways to Get Your Work Noticed

.Find a topic you’re passionate about. No one’s going to want to read about someone drone on and on about something they don’t give a crap about. If you’re passionate about it, others will be too.

.Find a medium that makes you feel inspired. If you like to write, design a blog. If you like to draw, make a drawing account on social media or self-publish a book of your drawings. If you like to speak, make a YouTube channel. The important thing is that this medium gives you a little creative spark or a push to keep creating.

.Find your voice. It’s of the utmost importance that you’re unique. You already are, since you’re your own human being, so find a way to translate that into your work. Write in the way that you think or speak. Draw what’s in your imagination.

.Find a way to incorporate the topic in your art. Don’t force it. Naturally use your work to raise interest and awareness about your topic. If you find the right topic and medium, the rest will follow.

.Use social media. I know EVERYONE says this, but it works. Make social media accounts for your blog/book/YouTube channel. Loads of people spend their entire lives on social media, and utilising that global force will get you noticed. *Extra tip: use many hashtags. #Doit.*

.Use your friends/family. Tell all of your friends and immediate/extended family members about your work. They’ll be SO proud of you, and will be happy to share basically anything you do. Then their friends will know about your work, and then their friends, etc. (You get the gist.)

.Join up with a pre-existing organization. If you’re passionate about girls’ education, join up with Girl Up. If you’re passionate about veganism, join up with PETA. If you’re passionate about children’s rights, join up with UNICEF. You can blog for these organizations, protest with them, or even just connect with their social medias. Their followers, who are passionate about things similar to you, will find your work and LOVE IT.

.Make new work regularly. Unless absolutely necessary, don’t take a hiatus from your work. People will miss you, and will start to dwindle from checking you out regularly. If you draw/write/make a new video at least once a week at a certain time, people will start to expect the new content and be excited! Trust me, this works SO well.

.Be a badass. Take risks with what you say/draw. If you stick on the safe side and only restate issues that have already been thoroughly discussed, and don’t bring them up in a new light, it’s kinda boring. People will appreciate new ideas and perspectives.

.Don’t be afraid. People will listen to what you say. They will, I promise. Your voice is important, and necessary to hear. You will make a difference in this world.
