To the people of the University of Basel: Join the world’s brightest minds and collaborate in a 48h online Hackathon on 3–5 April 2020 to fight the Coronavirus crisis. Registration deadline for participants ends soon.

COVID-19 has developed into a global crisis in recent weeks. Dozens of countries are currently facing similar challenges. #VersusVirus is a Swiss-wide online Hackathon under the patronage of the Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA) and aims to use the collective intelligence of researchers, experts, technology specialists and fellow citizens to develop fresh ideas for successfully facing the challenges posed by the Coronavirus.

During the 48h online Hackathon, participants from all over Switzerland will collaborate to find solutions for the challenges we are facing right now or will be facing in the future. For this work, #VersusVirus needs a strong, diverse community. That means people with very different perspectives and abilities. So you do not need to be a programmer or hacker to contribute.

Register now and get actively involved! Registration for participation ends on 2 April 2020 at 7 pm.

The #VersusVirus Hackathon will build on the solutions and prototypes previously developed at another initiative, the 72h online non-profit hackathon #CodeVsCovid19. The two initiatives thematically build on each other and the results are then jointly summarised, communicated and followed up.

Inspired by the #WirVsVirus Hackathon (Germany) and HackCrisis (Poland), several Swiss organizations are bringing Switzerland together to develop fresh ideas and solutions in dealing with and against the coronavirus. Among the organizers of #VersusVirus are Impact Hub Switzerland, Panter, Powercoders, Opendata.ch, Gebert Rüf Stiftung, digitalswitzerland, Staatslabor, GEN Switzerland, Swisscom, ETH Entrepreneur Club, foraus, and many others.
