His body would never die, but his mind filled with memories, year by year, till it could not hold any more. So he had to choose to forget. At first he chose to forget suffering, then his victories became hollow. He would forget whole lifetimes, loves, losses, everything that made him human recurring eternally with no memory to show for it. Looking upon the graves of those he once loved and remembering nothing. Eventually he became just a soulless wanderer, unable to assemble a real person out of the fragments of a thousand lifetimes.
