face up to your defect

No one wants to be perfect, but what is the definition of “perfect”? This definition is usually not determined by oneself but is judged according to the eyes of the world. When others think you are not perfect, you will follow suit, because your imperfection depends entirely on whether you can win the praise of the outside world. If you cannot become the focus of attention, even if you cannot find any shortcomings in yourself Don’t feel like you’re actually pretty good.

Not perfect means are flawed. Some people have physical defects, some people have psychological defects, and there are not a few people who have both external and internal defects. Basically, absolutely perfect people don’t exist in the world. Therefore, the pursuit of perfection, at most, is to achieve a certain degree of perfection in one aspect, and it cannot be perfect. In addition, when a certain part of you is perfect, you will pay more attention to another defect. Even if it is only a little bit, it will be magnified, which will affect your mood and lead to depression.

According to a report by the British Daily Mail, some parts of the body have some “defect” but instead represent health. E.g:

1. Within the normal weight range, women with some fat around the waist, because there is more estrogen in the body, it can protect the bones

effect.

2. The more moles, the longer the telomeres, the slower aging will be, and the longer life will be.

3. Oily skin, although prone to acne, rarely appears dry, cracked, and wrinkled, which also means that the regeneration ability of skin dermal tissue cells is relatively strong.

4. People with thick and short legs have larger bone diameters and bone density, and stronger bones. After entering old age, the incidence of osteoporosis is lower.

5. For people with big buttocks, subcutaneous fat can produce fat hormones that promote metabolism, which can help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

6. Large ears can overcome the problem of deafness in the elderly, because the large cochlea can collect sound waves in a larger area, allowing people to hear more clearly.

7. Men who are bald before the age of 30 have a significantly lower chance of developing prostate cancer because men with higher androgen levels are prone to baldness, but androgen can help reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

8. Big noses inhale 6.5% fewer pollutants than small noses, better defend against harmful germs, and have a lower incidence of flu.

9. Many women pursue big breasts, but a Turkish study found that women with overly large breasts are more likely to bend their spine and cause back pain. If they are larger than a D cup, the risk of back pain will be greater.

It can be seen from this that the places that are regarded as imperfect by the world seem to have their unknown benefits, but we don’t know how to be grateful for these temporarily innocuous benefits, as if only with the charm of attracting others can we contribute to our life. Bring pleasure.

It’s not that there is nothing wrong with pursuing the beauty of appearance, but that we must first have a healthy mentality to face defects calmly, and at the same time, we can turn around and smile at ourselves in case we fail to reach the perfect state.

Psychological defects, refers to the inability to maintain the balance ability of psychological adjustment and adaptation possessed by normal people. The most common ones are “character” defects and “emotional” defects.

Character defects include — feelings of powerlessness, maladjustment, paranoia, splitting, outbursts, compulsions, hysteria, aggression, etc.

Emotional deficits include — anxiety, depression, hypochondria, mania, etc.

These defects appear in the state of interpersonal relationship-conceit, withdrawal, suspicion, shyness, low self-esteem, interference, and role stubbornness, resulting in changeable emotions, difficulty getting along with others, and easygoing to extremes.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1982, Lec Vujic was born with congenital quadrombotomy, which results in the incomplete formation of the hands, feet, and head. According to his autobiography, when the nurse brought him to his mother, she refused to look at him or hold him at one point, but eventually accepted the fact and understood it as “God’s plan for their child.”

When he was in school, some classmates constantly bullied and laughed at Rick because of his peculiar appearance, which made him very depressed. Faced with huge physical and psychological defects, he collapsed and wanted to commit suicide several times, but failed. At the age of 17, after his mother showed him a report about how a man got out of the shadow of a severe disability, he realized that he was not alone in this world, which rekindled his courage to be a man of hope. At the age of 19, he plucked up the courage to call the school to sell his speech. After being rejected 52 times, he finally got a 5-minute speech opportunity and paid $50, which opened the prelude to his speaking career. At the age of 21, he successfully graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting and Financial Planning.

Rick has experienced life setbacks and a long period of darkness that ordinary people can’t imagine, from disappointment to despair to hope, from nothing to nothing, and became the first person in history to board the “Surfer” magazine cover of the rookie surfer. For him, being born without limbs is not a problem. For example, diving in Colombia or swimming with sea turtles in Hawaii is not a problem at all; other sports such as playing football, skateboarding, and golf are all fine. Rick has an appearance that is the least favored by the world and has no possibility of change. In the end, he fell through the eyes of the world and has a perfect life that normal people can’t win no matter how hard they try.

Many people may think that the example of Lecco Huzhe who successfully reversed his imperfect life is just a special case. Why is it a special case? The reason is not that Nick Vujic has the potential to be stronger than us, but that our mentality in the face of defect is more crippled than that of Nick Vujic.

If defects are part of God’s plan for creating man, then this plan has only one purpose — when you are defeated by the plan, it proves that you are an insignificant creature; when you overcome it and rewrite the ending, is God true? Your existence is not important, because your life is in your own hands.

Facing our own defects calmly, only in this way can we have the opportunity to get rid of the ugly eyes of others, get out of the state of physical and mental injuries, and open another perfect window for life.
