We understand the importance of breathing, eating food, sleeping, and drinking water. But we never realized how important it is to be active unless it hit us with physically bad times.

Just like eating, breathing, bathing, sleeping, and brushing, performing some movement in a day is the nature of our existence.

Although, most of us still face challenging times while introducing daily workouts in our everyday schedule. Why so?

It’s all because the importance of being fit never hits us priorly. The day our body starts to hit us with physical complexities like weight gain, minimum muscle mass, PCOD/PCOS, Diabetes, Hypertension, etc. We tend to understand the importance of being active.

People often keep on asking,

- How shall I motivate myself to workouts?

- Why don’t I have enough zeal to exercise? and the most important one,

- How-to take-out time for daily exercise in a busy schedule?

Well, here we are to help you out. Take a look below to find your motivation today!

Honestly, an active and healthy lifestyle is something we all must cultivate for ourselves regularly, but not many of us do justice to this fact.

If you feel incredibly sluggish and demotivated every time you aim to work out, here are few tips you must follow:

  1. You have to choose fitness as a “Lifestyle”.

The first step to success is to commit to your goals. Therefore, you must be realistic and commit to yourself to select fitness for all your life.

We think we will work out every day for the next month and be fit for our whole life. Well, sorry, buddy, life is not that easy, and fitness doesn’t work like that.

People tend to have body goals, and most of us fail because we want to achieve unrealistic goals without investing much of our time.

As I’ve mentioned before, fitness is a life process, just like you commit to eating, breathing, and drinking water every day.

If you want to stay in good shape, you need to work for it consistently.

Understand all the aspects of being healthy and practice them all your life.

Usually, because of our upbringing, we are not mentally prepared to treat fitness as a life process.

So, initially, you will fail a lot just to make this a habit. It won’t happen overnight.

Therefore, educate yourself, commit to yourself, push yourself, engage with like-minded people, and take baby steps every day to make fitness your lifestyle.

WATCH OUT FOR: There has to be a reason that drives you towards workout motivation and commitment. Find that one reason to stay fit and you will stay committed all your life.

2. Track Your Progress

When you track your body and see a visible difference, you start to feel more motivated towards your goals.

E.g.-Setting your smartwatch or pedometer with a task of walking 10,000 steps every day, and after completing those steps, a successful notification will boost your self-confidence.

Like calorie counting apps like MyFitnessPal and HealthifyMe, count your daily required calorie intake and be more conscious about what is healthy and what’s not.

When you count your progress, you become more conscious and mindful. Also, these applications and wearables are well designed to guide you with a warning if you tend to go off track.

There are so many smart-wearables now available all over the globe. Just choose any one of them to make your fitness game full of motivation.

This one tip is a little expensive, but it works all the time.

3. Plan your body goals

We all tend to function well when we know our ultimate goal. Find that goal and plan a small step-by-step mind map to understand how you will get there.

Planning plays an important role when you want to succeed. Here, planning your body goals will help you decide what activity to perform to get that desired body goal.

E.g.- If you are aiming for muscle hypertrophy, you need to perform more strength training, or if you expect to be more agile and flexible, you must practise flexing workouts like yoga, or if you want to run a marathon, then practice going on a regular jog.

A goal is achieved, only after making the right plan for yourself.

4. Join a fitness class

A fitness class membership will guide you well if you have highly challenging body goals to achieve (like, you want to lose 100 pounds, or you want to run a marathon, or you aim to do gymnastics, boxing, or calisthenics for fitness).

WATCH OUT FOR: It’s not mandatory to join a class, but if you struggle to work out alone. To find a fitness class online or near your place that you don’t ditch the course often will be a good idea for beginners.

Going to a fitness class helps you interact with many like-minded people with similar goals. When you work out with experienced, like-minded people, you gain lots of knowledge.

You can get a personal fitness coach as well. A coach will guide you in the most professional way possible, and if you struggle to make a fitness plan for yourself, your coach can do it for you.

5. Making the most of it

It is a myth that people believe that only going to the gym or a yoga class will make them fit. Fitness comes naturally to all humans.

We may have different strength levels, but movement is a universal characteristic to all of us. Moving whenever possible is the best way to stay active and healthy.

E.g.- 1. Taking the stairs to work instead of the elevator.

2. Instead of being a couch potato, you can start doing bodyweight workouts (like pushups, squats, lunges, planks, burpees, or crunches) while watching your favourite T.V show.

3. Doing mild 5 minutes stretching before and after going to sleep.

4. Ditch those uber cabs and public transports. Start walking more, or if possible, take a cycle to work. It’s super economical, eco-friendly, and healthy for your physical well-being.

5. Instead of sitting down, start walking around while on a call with your friends/ parents/ partner.

All these mini activities can allow you to become more active and fit in your day.

The Takeaway

Making time for fitness is not difficult. All you need to do is adjust a little to gain a good physical appeal.

Being active every day for a minimum of 30 to 60 minutes is essential for all human beings to be fit.

Although, if you perform high-intensity workouts like running, sprinting, skipping, or swimming, only 15 minutes every day of such exercises can make you stay in shape.

If you want to stay in shape for all your life, you need to make a lifetime commitment.

REMEMBER: There is no one way to stay fit. If you like to go to the gym, do it. If you don’t have time, make the most of your days by moving all day around doing simple daily chores.

Never underestimate the power of motion and exercise. The more you move, the better your body will tend to function.
