Are you one of those people who makes a big deal out of your New Year’s resolutions? You know, the ones you share with everyone you meet and plaster all over your social media accounts? Well, let me tell you, you’re doing it all wrong.

First of all, sharing your resolutions with others is just asking for trouble. Think about it: now you’ve got all these people checking in on your progress and expecting you to actually follow through on your goals. No pressure or anything. Plus, if you don’t meet your goals, you’ll have to face the disappointment and judgment of all those people you told. No thanks.

But let’s say you do manage to stick to your resolutions. Great! Now you’ve got all these people patting you on the back and congratulating you for doing things you probably should have been doing all along. How embarrassing.

So, let’s just keep our resolutions to ourselves, shall we? That way, we can silently pat ourselves on the back when we succeed and silently shame ourselves when we fail. It’s a win-win.

So go ahead and make your resolutions, but keep them to yourself. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

Happy New Year!
