What Is The Best Way To Lose Belly Fat?

For those of you that have been carrying that spare tire around your midsection for too long, the big question you want to know; what is the best way to lose my stomach fat?

The answer is one you’ll probably already know but don’t want to hear….

The only way to lose body fat safely and healthily is to eat a balanced diet of the right kind of foods and preferably adding in some form of frequent and effective exercise regime.

In this article, we will explore 8 of the best tips to get rid of unsightly fat for good and gain that summer figure you always dreamed of.

1. Create a Calorie Deficit

To lose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume daily. For example, if you want to burn a pound of fat a week (a pound of fat consists roughly of 3,500 calories) you need to either burn 500 calories a day or eat 500 fewer calories in a day.

500 calories x 7 days equals 3,500 calories that are lost. For maximum effect, a combination of these two things is certain to help you lose weight quickly.
This is a short answer on losing belly fat, but there are more things that can have a great effect on whether you will lose that extra chub or put even more on.

This article will outline several other factors that can enable you to shed those unwanted pounds from your gut.

2. Avoid Stress

Our bodies produce a hormone called cortisol in response to stress, causing your body to crave higher-calorie foods to restore the energy lost due to this stress.

This can be a vicious cycle as putting on further weight causes further stress, and so the body ends of constantly creating more cortisol.

Combat stress by doing simple things such as:

  • Do more exercise
  • Practice relaxation techniques like tai-chi, yoga, or meditation.
  • Avoid things like nicotine, alcohol, and caffeine.
  • Get more quality sleep
  • Share your problems with a friend or family member

3. Eat Properly

Getting enough to eat is very important when it comes to losing belly fat, with breakfast being extremely important. Lots of people skip breakfast in an effort to lose weight, but this is the worst thing you can do.

Eating an hour after waking keeps insulin levels steadier and thus your weight levels. This isn’t to say stuff yourself, but having a breakfast rich in protein and fiber boosts the body’s metabolism and aids in burning fat.

4. Cut Out the Junk

Let’s face it, many of us love a nice takeaway now and then.

Unfortunately, junk foods are exactly the kind of foods that heavily impact your health and weight (no pun intended).

These foods are high in unhealthy fats and are basically empty calories. Also, the ingredients are poor, many of which are found to contain artificial sweeteners and increased salt levels.

These ingredients don’t suit the body at all. Negative effects like excessive weight gain and high blood pressure occur as a result of consuming too much junk food over time.

5. Eat more whole foods

Whole foods are foods in their natural state, and typically don’t contain any added ingredients, such as fat, salt, or carbohydrates.

Examples of whole foods:

  • Beans
  • Pulses
  • Greens
  • Vegetables
  • Nuts
  • Eggs
  • Lean meats
  • Oats
  • Fat-free or low-fat dairy products
  • Fish
  • Berries
  • Wholegrain bread

Add these superfoods to your eating plan and you will notice the difference in your energy levels and weight loss efforts.

6. Exercise

They say Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was your belly fat. You built it over time through laziness and lack of exercise. Vigorous exercise burns fat, so half an hour of intense exercise done around 4 times a week is perfect!

Cardio or cardiovascular activity is great for reducing belly fat. Studies show that HIIT, (High-Intensity Interval Training) is very efficient for getting leaner and raising the body metabolic rate for up to 72 hours…So turn it up a gear and FEEL THE BURN!

Also consider bodyweight exercises. These don’t require gym memberships or equipment, just your body weight and that’s it. Bodyweight exercises are a key component of many of the greatest fat loss and muscle gaining workouts out there.

They can include push-ups, pull-ups, jumping jacks, squats, lunges, plank, and many more. The idea is to go through each exercise sequentially, doing a set amount of reps, with short rest periods in between. When each exercise has been done, this completes a circuit. Perform 4 circuits for an amazing and effective workout!

7. Avoid Fancy Diets

That’s right, they don’t work. All manner of fad diets emerge that claim to be ‘the one’ yet none of them can be practically sustained in the long run.
They stress the body so it responds by working even harder to store fat, particularly stomach fat.

What happens with people that follow these diets is eventually they end up becoming disillusioned and revert back to their old eating habits, and so putting the extra weight back on anyway.

8. Drink Enough Water

Staying properly hydrated is the key to weight loss. Drinking enough water is one of the best things you can do to lose weight and belly fat.
TIP: Drink water before meals. Having a good drink of water before eating can decrease appetite. People often confuse thirst for feeling hungry, and so tend to eat more.

Drinking enough water gives the body the feeling of being full thus taking in fewer calories.
If you substitute the unhealthier drinks with water this can also spare you about 270 calories per day!

In Conclusion

A lot of people find it hard to change their habits and shy away from the prospect of having to undergo a complete change of lifestyle. You may be one of these people yourself.

However, the initial effort will soon begin to pay off as you will likely find yourself with more energy than ever and see the dramatic difference to your figure these tips will make. You will look and feel amazing, and may even get a few compliments at the same time.

Also, remember to set realistic expectations, you won’t lose your belly overnight but by following a healthy eating plan and getting enough exercise you can and will lose that belly fat before very long!
