- Drinking water in the right manner gives you good mental and physical health.
- Our body need 2.5 to 3 liters of water to be hydrated.
Here are some do’s and don’ts that we should strictly follow ;
Do’s that will give you a surprising result
- Drink a minimum of 1 glass just after getting up in the morning — This will detox your body and reduce clear constipation. The best way is to have water from copper glass which creates ions that help in weight loss.
- Drink sip sip water every 1 hour.. don't gulp water in one breathe— this helps to dilute the gastric juices.
- Always drink water in a sitting position -this helps water to mix with food.
- Always drink lukewarm water -it will keep your Agni (means fire) ignited.
- Drink water before 1 hour and after 1 hour after eating . This gives food proper time for digestion.
- Most importantly the more you keep yourself hydrated the more you will lose weight.
Never drink water as follows:
- Drinking water in a standing position -leads to joint pain.
- Never drink cold water directly … as it blows out the Agni (fire) and causes cough and cold.
- Drinking water in a hurry and gasping in one breath does not dilute the juice which causes indigestion and following weight gain.
- Drinking water just before food can cause indigestion so always drink it 1 hour before a meal
- Drinking water just after food is similar to poison. This creates ‘Aam’ which is an indigested juice that creates imbalance and lots of disease. (Reference -Charak Samhita purvardh).
- Never drink water just after cardio or intense running or workout..as the heart rate is high and the body is not stabilized. So rest for 5 min and then drink water.
