Thursday. October 1st, 1970.

Fifty years ago today, the first day of October also fell on a Thursday, the week day named for Thor, the Norse god of Thunder. Those of us born into the world that day were unaware of the magnitudinal meaning of Thursday’s Child. We stood at the start of a long and arduous journey but like Thor, the strongest avenger of the Marvel universe, we too could summon thunder.
