Hello Parents! We have found a new way to attach your biggest nemesis, “Screen time”, PODCASTS. Since the internet space is filled with so much science content it’s really challenging to find the right podcast without wasting time. Thankfully for you guys, we’ve discovered some great kid-friendly podcasts that you and your family will love listening to. These podcasts are also great for bedtime stories, long road trips, or even just spending some quiet time after school.

Following are the amazing 5 science podcast for your children:

  1. But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids — Kids are always asking simple questions that have shockingly complicated answers, such as “Why is the water blue?” and “How do we grow tall?” This adorable twice-weekly podcast answers these questions in a simple and straightforward manner. Every episode has questions asked by children, which are divided into themes. They bring in experts of every domain to answer these questions in an easy to understand format.
  2. Tumble — These guys make sure that they try to develop a liking for science in children. They interview scientists to understand their process, inventions and discoveries, which can encourage the kids. The host makes sure that the audience has a very basic knowledge of science and hence their explanations are extremely basic, inspiring all age groups to develop an interest in science.
  3. Wow in the world — This podcast is hosted by a quirky and witty duo, Guy Roz and Mindy. They have a new episode once every week. They are not just fun for children but very informative for the grownups which makes them apt for parents and children to enjoy them together. Being NPR’s first show for kids is exactly the sort of engaging, well-produced content you would expect from the leaders in radio and audio series.
  4. Brains on — One of the highlights of the award-winning podcast for science Brains on is that the co-host along with Molly Bloom is a young science enthusiast and this young enthusiast changes every week. These work in a similar manner as But Why, where they encourage everyone to drop in their questions and in every episode the questions are picked based on a theme. One difference being it is skewed a bit older, both in its questions and answers.
  5. The show about science — Cuteness overload! This podcast is hosted by a very inquisitive and smart 6-year-old Nate Butkus, who has been seen on The Ellen Degeneres Show. On his podcast, The Show About Science, he interviews scientists about how the world works. He does a fantastic job and it’s totally worth a listen.
