It is my great pleasure to announce Liquid Death has raised $67M in strategic financing, bringing its valuation to $1.4B valuation.

Science has led Liquid Death’s Seed, Series C, and Series D rounds, and we are thrilled to stand alongside follow-on partners and new investors, including notable names in entertainment and sports, for this newest funding.

This financing will help further scale national distribution to meet demand and accelerate product innovation as a multi-category beverage platform and scale operations as demand increases for new flavored sparkling water and iced tea flavors launching later this year.

Working with visionary founder and CEO, Mike Cessario, we’ve witnessed him and his team build growth metrics unlike anything ever seen before in the beverage category; the company hit $263M in retail scanned sales last year and has expanded to 113,000 retailers across the US and UK. The healthy beverage brand has also achieved triple-digit growth for the third consecutive year, becoming the fastest-growing water and iced tea brand. In just a few months after launch, Liquid Death became the second largest ready-to-drink tea on Amazon by total sales.

And that’s not all.

Liquid Death recently welcomed Stephen Ballard, a seasoned sales executive and White Claw alumni who will help Liquid Death continue to scale into a world-class distribution network that aims to rid plastic bottles from around the world. Liquid Death also launched Death Dust — hydration sticks and the brand’s first product beyond the ready-to-drink beverage category.

Mike Cessario and his team have not only operated within culture, but they’ve completely redefined it, growing a loyal fan base in the process through creative and comedic campaigns that are consistently the topic of conversation. This is evident in the numbers; Liquid Death’s social following captures 7.9M followers across TikTok and Instagram, making it the third most followed beverage globally.

At Science, we remain committed to identifying and backing exceptional entrepreneurs and companies with the potential to transform industries and improve lives — and in Liquid Death’s case — helping shift consumption habits away from sodas, energy drinks, and alcohol, and cutting out plastic bottles while having more fun.

We are excited about the opportunity to continue working closely with Liquid Death and support the company’s growth and success in the years to come. A big congratulations to the team — we’re honored to deepen our partnership and continue growing together.
