Keeping up with how and why your research is being cited is important to understand your field of research better and to demonstrate your productivity and impact as a researcher, and thanks to scite the veracity of your work. Through our Smart Citations we have made it easy for researchers to understand how their work has been cited and if it has been supported or disputed by subsequent research. However, if an article received a new citation there was no easy way to track this.

Today, we have just released citation alerts, an easy way for you to track how your articles have been cited and to be notified via email when you receive a new citation.

Get started by signing up and claiming your research articles on scite or by syncing your ORCID profile directly to automatically claim your publications.

Once you have populated your profile you can subscribe to your own research by clicking the bell icon next to your name.

If you find this feature useful, you can refer your colleagues and we will give you a month of our premium plan for free.

Notification management

Once you’ve opted into alerts, you will receive an email each time a classification changes or if you’ve received new citations. These alerts will include the citation classification and its context including the section of the paper they appear in and the snippet showing how the citation is referring to the cited paper.

Notification email

Through notifications we hope you are able to stay up to date with how your works (including preprints)are cited. While we have started with author notifications, we are planning on expanding these notifications to individual papers and our upcoming do-it-yourself dashboards. If you are interested in this or have any questions about our author notifications feature let us know at hi@scite.ai
