One of the primary values that scite delivers is the ability for researchers to monitor how their work is being received by the community — whether it’s being supported or disputed and the context of the citations that it receives. Previously we had implemented a way for users to do that by allowing them to claim their papers. In order to help facilitate this, we are happy to announce a feature that many of our users have asked for — ORCID integration including sign in with ORCID, claiming an ORCID as part of your profile, and syncing your research and other ORCID record information with scite.

If you are new to scite you can simply login with your ORCID and your profile will be populated with your ORCID record — from there you can have a look at how your research is being cited.

ORCID login

If you already have a scite account just go to your profile in scite and claim your ORCID record. You may also sign in with your ORCID from the sign in page to connect your ORCID record provided your primary ORCID email is the same as your scite account (you can change this in your scite account settings if need be)

If you would like to sync your articles from ORCID you can click “Sync articles from ORCID” on your profile page and your works will be claimed automatically.

ORCID’s approach of creating permanent identifiers for researchers is making science more reliable by helping disambiguate researchers. This goes hand in hand with scite’s mission to make science more reliable and transparent. We are happy to integrate with this vital service for scientists to ensure research quality and reliability.

We hope that our ORCID integration is useful to you. It is part of our commitment to listen to what our community asks for and help them do research better. If you have any questions or requests for additional features please let us know at hi@scite.ai or on twitter with the handle @scite
