A Game for Souls

Gary Peterson (34) reaches for the ball in 1970

One day in class, Professor Simrill asked me who would win in a basketball game, Jordan or Jesus? I did not know the answer, but to me the question seemed funny. At this point, the idea for my creative project began to grow. I do not intend to create sacrilegious material with this project. This depiction of my Lord is important to me. Yet, He has given me the freedom to explore and explain his world in any artistic form. I believe God is humorous, just ask the platypus. Humor may be the clearest form of communication. The medium allows a speaker to address serious issues with a lighthearted tone. In this comic, I infused religious themes into a preposterous situation. I enjoyed the challenge and hope you enjoy the result.
