ImmoScout24 App for iOS 10 and watchOS 3

When Apple previewed iOS 10 and watchOS 3 at their Worldwide Developers Conference in June this year, our team present at the conference in San Francisco and the rest of us in Berlin were pretty excited about adding the just-announced features to improve the search experience for our users in the ImmobilienScout App. Thanks to our great relationship with Apple, we got early access and were in the first batch of Apps released with iOS 10 support and sported some of its nifty features.

Here’s a quick run through our favorites.

Rich Notifications
If you’ve already been using the latest version of the app on iOS 10, the next time you receive a push notification for your last property search, you can force-touch the notification on your lock screen to see the first few result listings of your search right into the notification. From there, you can either directly “Go to Results” or tap on one of the listings to jump right into the property Expose.

A Redesigned Watch App and a Complication
It’s safe to say that the majority of interactions on the Watch happen outside of the apps themselves. With this in mind, we redesigned the glance screen of our Watch App so you can find the most relevant information — the number of new properties added since you last searched — from the new Dock on your watch.

A Complication is a small widget that resides on the watch face and updates in real time. We built a Complication that shows you the number of new properties on your previous search right on the watch face.

We used watchOS 3’s Background Refresh APIs to update information in the background for the Complication as well as the Dock, so you have the most up-to-date information on your property search in just a glance at the watch.
