Celebrating Scratch’s 10th birthday around the world

This May, people from all around the world gathered to celebrate Scratch at more than 1100 Scratch Day events — breaking a record for the most registered Scratch Day celebrations to date!

This year’s celebrations were particularly special because they coincided with the 10th birthday of Scratch. Young people came together to share projects, learn from each other, exchange “Scratch stories,” welcome newcomers, and, in many cases, eat cake. In the Scratch online community, Scratchers created and shared more than 4000 birthday-inspired projects to commemorate the milestone.
