Last month, Scratchers, educators, and parents from around the globe celebrated Scratch Week with over 500 virtual and in-person Scratch Day events! Scratch Week is a time of year when the Scratch Community joins together online and in their local communities to reflect, share and celebrate the extraordinary ways they use Scratch and ScratchJr to imagine, create, connect, and play.

This year, we encouraged our community to celebrate with a series of prompts in the Scratch Editor. With these prompts, Scratchers journeyed around the world with Scratch Cat, dined in at a pet cafe, created paper crafts, and more. In just one week, Scratchers shared over 3000 projects!

Every year, we are amazed by the creativity of our genius Scratchers, and this year was no exception. Take a look at some of the ways our community celebrated:

#ScratchWeek with the Scratch Education Collaborative

Sunyani Senior High School, Sunyani, Ghana

Fundación Varkey, Caba Argentina

Islahudeen Grammar School, Osogbo, Nigeria

#ScratchDay with the Scratch Team

Scratch Foundation, Cambridge, Massachusetts

#ScratchWeek on Instagram

Thank you for another year of safe, quirky, kind, and creative coding on Scratch. We can’t wait to see all of the incredible things that you create in the next year! We hope to see you at our 2023 Scratch Conference; grab your tickets here!
