Synopsis
Sam (Kat Graham) is seeing off her fiance Will (Theo James) at the airport as he flies to Chicago to see her parents. She is pregnant and Will is going to inform her parents and ask her father for her hand in marriage. Tom, (Forest Whitaker) Sam’s father and Will do not get along. Tom and Will get into an argument during dinner and Will leaves without achieving his purpose. Will is to fly back to Seattle the next morning but while speaking to Sam on the phone, there is a strange ominous sound and Sam sounds scared. After that, all communication is lost and Will cannot reach Sam. He gets to the airport to find that all flights have been canceled and returns to Sam’s parent's house. Information is sketchy with the media reporting seismic activity.
Tom is leaving by road to try and find Sam while Sam’s mother is going to stay with family. He asks if Will is coming. Soldiers have closed off all main roads but Tom is ex-military and appeals to them to let him through. As night falls, they are pulled over by a police vehicle but the driver is an armed ex-convict.
