The Not-So-Secret Formula to Get People Love Reading Your Blogs
Have you ever wondered how some writers get 10K, 100K, and even 1 Million pageviews on a single blogpost?
I bet you’d want that for yourself.
When I started my career as a writer, I read all kinds of crap for learning how to write online — the styles, the structure, how to choose topics, and most importantly, how to cram in keywords so that people can find you on Google.
This reminds me, if you ever need blog content writing services, give me a shout!
That’s an SEO gag. just ignore it.
Anyway, the point is, I read a lot of stuff about writing online and copied the techniques at my former employers. Though most of it worked, but I never really saw the huge number of pageviews I always wanted to see for my blogs.
Reason? — I was doing what just every other average writer on this planet was doing.
In fact, I carried on like this for 2 years.
But then I got to thinking…
How can I stand out from other writers & get people to love my writing?
The answer was simple.
The Not-So-Secret Formula:
There is only one way to become a better writer and get people love reading your blogs.
Here it is — Write like you talk.
Now, before you move your cursor on the little “X” icon on the top-right corner — just WAIT!
I’m sure that this advice has been said countless times, but not by me. So I’ll say it too.
Write Like you talk (but not literally).
Here’s what I mean:
Don’t include “um…” in every sentence like you do when speaking, nor should you end writing a sentence with “you know”.
What I’m trying to say is — Write in a way that only you can write.
And the only way to do that is to write like you speak.
In fact, writing like you speak is always easier than copying style of other writers.
First, it flows way better and becomes more enjoyable for readers.
Second, you’ll never be able copy 100% of their style.
Third, even if you do copy 100% of their style, you won’t be able to stand-out as most average writers are doing the same thing.
And best of all — writing like the way you speak will allow you to inject a part of your personality in your writings. And people hire writers who knows how to do exactly that.
So, if you want to get better, conversational writing is the way to go.
In fact, making this simple change has also helped me triple my former employer’s website traffic, got me early pay-hike, because more traffic resulted into more leads.
Even today, people hire me just because of the way I write. And editors of popular publications publish my articles.
So, try writing the way you talk. Your writing will surely get better and you’ll definitely stand-out from other writers.
