This Side of Summer Solstice

Poetry

Photo by Zetong Li on Unsplash

The days grow shorter
as the hazy twilight grows longer
we find ourselves on this side of Solstice
a slow diminishing of the day

The memory of October ghosts
cool Fall evenings
even here as we stand in the middle ground
the precipice of July and summer heat
