Tectolitician
The term means ‘Builder for Citizens’. Etymology- ‘Tekton’: builder, ‘politikos’: for, of relating to the citizens.In simple words, it means an architect who turns a politician. He is the guy who first is a sensitive person, than Architect and then a Politician.
Why or How tectoliticians better than an Architect or Politician?
Why do we need more and more tectoliticians?

Who were they in our History?
Why or how Tectoliticians better than an Architect or Politician?
An architect who is considered literally next to God, they are the Creators, the builders who manifests the resources and convert and build and create our Physical Realm. They make the most basic necessity for humans-shelter. But now Architects aren’t just persons creating physical realm, but a physical environment, a warmth, an envelope covering people around. They no longer are just Masons and Carpenters, but they interfere and intervene at almost all the level of human lifestyle. Be it furniture in homes or furniture on streets, be it a door knob or be it city planning, An architect is the one to be consulted. A politician is another important entity of our society, who has equal or more power than Architects. Politicians shape the other side of the realm, the non-physical or non materialistic realm. They control the crowd, they shape culture, they shape law and order, they shape a City’s or country’s boundaries. They are the ones who ultimately runs everything. They are the government, they are our representatives.
Now, an Architect’s limitation the biggest one is to get his ideas, his sensible Planned Future, his passion and his baby to be approved by a politician. He needs to satisfy the Politician in order to make his plans a reality. That’s his biggest disadvantage. A politician’s limitation, on the biggest one is though he has the power to pass or not pass an Architect’s future plans but he lacks the vision many a times to see and imagine the world as the Architects do. They can’t see the plan imagined on a piece of land. What they see is how this plan helps people o himself in an economical way. So, basically by being an Architect to a true self and then becoming politician dissolves the disadvantages of both of them. Tectolitician would be the creator, the maker who will think about the bigger crowd while addressing to a plan or design while governing people with new ideas which he can imagine. He can in actual terms shape humans physically, culturally and socially. This realization stuck me while started reading “A Pattern Language- Christopher Alexander”. But the biggest Advantages can turn out to be a disadvantage. Because tectolitician has the Ultimate power over crowds, total power, absolute power. As it’s said,
“Absolute Power Corrupts”
Why there is a growing and pressing needs for Tectoliticians?
In the growing urban population, Urban context, Globalization, deforestation, global warming scenario where Politicians as well as Architect’s main goal has shifted from the public interest to self interests, the guy who has a tremendous knowledge, insight about people’s lives and who has the designer sight should come forward to change not just a building, a street but whole cities and countries by getting down to politics. Basically, understanding the people first and their physical environment and then trying to change the crowd’s lives through judiciary interventions and policies is a must. That is something which a tectolitician is made for. They are the persons who will be prepared to take the bold decisions but even put a poker face and fold when h needs to. He shall have a formal education where both of this field’s knowledge he’ll acquire.
Is it a new term or an existing one?
Well, definitely a new term. But the essence or core of it has existed since the humans existed. It is this Principle, that all the humans are Architects of their lives which leads to the ideas of this Tectolitician. The gods, the rulers, the prince et al everybody at one level or other were tectolitician.
Who were they in our history?
To be factual there aren’t many who fell or can fall into this category.
Adolf Hitler, was he a Tectolitician? No. He was a great politician, a leader. But what he fundamentally lacked was the vision for the physical transformation of cities and countries.
Frederick The Great, was he? Well, to an extent yes. He not only advanced military, political, and bureaucratically structures but the infrastructure as well. He did try to change Prussia not just through culture, but in terms of Infrastructure as well.
Ashoka The Great? Yes. He wasn’t just a great ruler but a sensitive person as well. And this sensitiveness towards his people led to many Architectural monuments which stands till now.
But even this examples were for Politicians, trying to build, (i.e.) Politects. Not, Tectoliticians. Actually there existed no one who would or could be termed as Tectolitician. Only examples are there are of gods, lords like Khrishna having complete knowledge in everything. This was for Hindus, other religions has other names. But finally they are but Mythological creatures.
