Abdullah Siddiqui made waves in the local music industry with unique indie music style and can be credited for making EDM mainstream in a place where sufi-rock dominates. He has been putting out music since 2015 and made his Forever South (FXS) debut, with his original, ‘Fiction’. In 2018, he caught his big break with the release of ‘Resistance’, that got him the limelight, a place in Nescafe Basement and a nomination in LSA, in the category of Best Emerging Talent in Music.

In the process of pursuing an undergrad degree in computer science, Siddiqui has been working on his music simultaneously. The prodigal artist has now released his latest song, “Kids”, the first track of his upcoming album “Heterotopia”. The song has Siddiqui’s signature style and features Shamoon Ismail that add to its nuance.

It represents Abdullah’s exclusive perspective on the entertainment industry. Staying true to his candid persona, “Kids” takes the listeners through a stirring experience. The lyrics depict his take on the unshakeable imposter syndrome of his environment. On every level, the heartfelt composition lays bare raw feelings of doubt, insecurities, and not believing oneself as deserving of success.

Written, produced, mixed, and mastered by Abdullah Siddiqui and Shamoon Ismail the song will take the listener through a spectrum of overwhelming emotions that everyone has experienced at some point in life. Its narration revolves around the journey of a young artist, stumbling around in the industry, trying to find a foothold, carving out “self”. Every aspect of the song will strike a relatable chord within listeners.
